On the evening of Feb. 8, 2020, a 47-year-old woman lost her life. The accident occurred when a truck came over a hill and failed to stop in time. The truck then smashed into the Jeep in front of it, allegedly killing the female passenger and injuring the driver. Two other vehicles were involved in the crash when the Jeep was pushed into the car in front of it, causing a 4-car pileup on I-44 near South Union Ave.

The road was closed for several hours and Tulsa firefighters pronounced the woman in the second vehicle (the Jeep) dead on the scene. The driver of the Jeep was transported to St. Francis Hospital, where he was treated and released. According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, no other injuries were reported. The Bristow teenagers driving the first vehicle (the truck) were not harmed.

State troopers are still investigating the circumstances leading up to the crash. They have not yet made any citations or arrests.

While no arrests have been made in this tragic accident and fault has not yet been determined, a rear-end accident is almost always the rear driver’s fault. As a result, anyone who was injured in the accident may be entitled to compensation. In cases like this, an insurance claim may not be enough to assist the bereaved. This is where a personal injury law firm like Richardson Richardson Boudreaux, PLLC comes into play.

Our experienced attorneys can help the driver of the Jeep, or anyone in similar circumstances, file a wrongful death lawsuit on behalf of themselves and their deceased family member. Unfortunately, a lawsuit cannot change what happened, but it can help victims pay for costs associated with accidents, including funerary expenses. A financial award can also offer comfort after a devastating crash, giving the bereaved ample time to grieve and recover.
