Every year, the National Safety Council observes National Safety Month in June in an effort to reduce the leading causes of injury and death at work, on the road, our homes, and in our communities. Unfortunately, even the most innocent incident can escalate into a potentially devastating accident, injuring you and your loved ones. Our firm proudly participates in this important cause as we too believe in the power of prevention to keep ourselves and our loved ones safe. Each week in June is designated to focus on the education and prevention of the leading causes of common injuries.

The NSC has identified the most common safety topics, which include:

  • Hazard Recognition – Learning how to successfully spot dangers before you fall victim to them is vital.
  • Slips, Trips, & Falls – Slip and fall accidents are extremely common in nearly every setting, whether at home, in the workplace, or in public. These accidents are responsible for many painful injuries and in extreme cases, may even lead to death.
  • Fatigue – Not only does fatigue impair one’s senses and overall behavior, but it also significantly reduces an individual’s focus, reaction time, and performance.
  • Impairment – Millions of Americans continue to struggle with addiction to drugs and alcohol. Any sort of intoxication, even from prescription medication, can produce fatal results.

Combating the dangers of the world may seem like a never-ending or impossible problem to overcome, but it doesn’t have to be. By staying vigilant and looking out for your fellow man or woman, fighting with these common risks and hazards is all the more possible every day.

At Richardson Richardson Boudreaux, PLLC, we take safety extremely seriously and our mission is to provide a means of hope and justice for those who have been injured due to no fault of their own.
