Draper’s DUI Trial Delayed

OKLAHOMA CITY – Suspended House Speaker Dan Draper won a delay Thursday for his trial on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol.
Draper, who was convicted last month of federal charges alleging vote fraud and is suspended from the House, was arrested March 28 in Oklahoma City on charges of driving under the influence and transporting an open container of liquor.
The trial was previously scheduled to begin Monday, but Oklahoma City Municipal Judge Patrick O. Delaney reset the date to Oct 17, and Jana Bagwell, the court administrator.
She said the change was made at the request of Draper’s attorney.
