Letter To The Editor

To The Editor:

Being an avid reader, I like many of you, find myself turning to Vidor paper directly to the section labeled "Letter To The Editor."  Here we can read different opinions from different individuals on many different subjects, the most popular being, Orange County Sheriff James Wade, Matthew the Drug Dog, and recently an article on our School Board Members.  From these articles along with our other newspapers, TV stations, Radios and the never ending people that know all the facts about every subject mentioned above, we can all easily sit back and make our decision as to whom is right or wrong.  (We all tend to forget that we are all being judged --daily.  Someday all of us -- even the judges and juries-- will come to our final judgment day.  Then Justice will be done.  I am as guilty as anyone on doing this even though our society says you're "Innocent Until Proven Guilty." None of the above subjects have been proven guilty of anything -- yet!
During the past month I have really done some searching --irregardless of the charges against James Wade, what about his wife and children?  Are they guilty?  Are they innocent?  A judge and jury can decide the fate of James Wade, but again what about Neva and the kids?  Will the judge and jury decide how they pay a housenote, utilities, buy food or even get medical attention?  Is this justice for them?  Are they guilty?-- Yes, they are guilty and selfish, guilty for believing in a husband and father, guilty for willing to let go of a lot of material things, and struggling to fight for a husband and father in which they have many years of dependency on; along with years of security, love, understanding, support and trust, Selfish in fighting to keep; their family together.
Let's all put ourselves in this lady's shoes and those of her children.  Would we do the same?   I feel at this time if it were my husband (guilty or not guilty) I would have to fight and stand beside hime.
So at this time I'm for helping Neva and her children.  I'm going to let our Justice System decide the fate of James, being it's out of my hands anyway.  I, along with a lot of more people who feel as I do are getting together a Benefit auction & Dance on Dance on Sat., Aug 6 from 7:00 p.m. - 1:00am at the Vidor VFW Music is being donated by Bruce Wilson and the Elite Sounds.
I know a lot of us don't have the money to spend at an auction: but please come donate$1.00 at the door, and enjoy the entertainment, gumbo will be available, along with door prized.
Come on Orange County -- friends, neighbors and citizens, let's generate a community involvement and show Neva Wade and her children what we care about what happens to them.  Let's not "LABEL" guilty or not guilty.  let's let the courts decide that.  We can help the fate of Neva and her kids.
Come join the fun and visit with your friends and neighbors.  Meet Neva--give her an encouraging smile' show her we understand and that we care what happens to her and the children.  Hope to see you all Saturday, Aug. 6 from 7:00p.m. - 1:00a.m. at the Vidor VFW.  $1.00 donation at the door.
Any individuals or businesses willing to make a donation for the auction can call 769-6968 or 786-2551, we will be happy to pick it up.
