Local citizens react to Walker’s indictments

What is your reaction to the indictments against Sheriff Ed Walker?

“I just think they ought to give him a chance to prove that he didn’t do it.  Like he said, ‘Politics is the head of it,’ because I do know Ed Walker.”

Edna Bivan, 61, Retired

“Well I really don’t know what to say because I really don’t know him that well. But I think we should look into it and see what the results are because as a public we don’t know if we don’t check into something like that and find out for sure,”

Beulah Thomas, 67, Retired

“If he’s guilty I think that he should have to do … if you do the crime you do the time.  I don’t think he’s going to do us much good in the Tulsa jail.”

Harold Freeman, 26, Mental Health Specialist

“I really don’t know much about Sheriff Walker. I’ve just been her four years and from what people tell me around here, everybody who gets in office gets into something.  If he is into all of this, I think that he should pay for it one way or another.”

Fred Johannsen, 60, Retired

“I just think they need to get all the facts.  Sometimes people jump to conclusions to think he’s guilty before he actually is. “Before he is proven guilty, he’s innocent as far as I’m concerned.”

Bob Eulitt, 49, Sign Maker
